The ChaOS Orchestra is a non-auditioned ensemble conducted by Frederick Platt from 2017-2021, and by Arturo Serna since 2022. The group has recently performed works such as Mendelssohn’s Symphony No.3 “Scottish”, Dvorák’s Symphony No.8, Liszt Piano Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.6 “Pathétique” at end of semester orchestral concerts in venues such as St Swithin’s Church and St Mary’s Church, showcasing the growing talent of its members. In addition, the orchestra often collaborates with the ChaOS Choir, performing works such as Brahms’ Schicksalslied and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony.
We welcome players of all abilities who are looking to expand their classical repertoire and love a challenge. Our group is a fun and passionate group of musicians who enjoy playing music together, and an unbeatable selection of biscuits are always provided at the ensemble break, so please come along and have fun, no matter your instrument or grade!
