Welcome to the Volunteer Centre

Volunteering is a great way to make friends, help out and gain new skills. Student led volunteer groups organise a range of projects, from fundraising events to Christmas parties for local children. Many voluntary community projects rely heavily on the support of volunteers in order to carry out their work, so when students do give their time to an event or cause, their input is truly valued. These opportunities are also open to staff at the University.

As well as providing opportunities for students to volunteer, The Volunteer Centre is also responsible for ensuring that volunteer policy and effective volunteer management is being adhered to throughout the whole of the Students’ Union. Hence the Students’ Union was recently awarded with the Investing in Volunteers kitemark.

If you do not see any projects that interest you then please contact us to arrange a meeting or simply pop in! The Volunteer Centre can support you with finding a volunteer placement or with putting your own unique ideas into practice!
