Welcome to the Broncos! UoB's Mens Rugby League Team

About Us

The club was founded by a group of rugby players that wanted to offer a competitive alternative to the Rugby Union club at the University Bath in terms of both playing code and club culture. We put a strong emphasis on both achieving on-field success and providing an enjoyable off-field environment that welcomes and includes all club members. We welcome players of all abilities and Rugby League experience and offer the environment and structure in which any player can learn, develop and achieve success. Past players, many of whom have been Rugby League newcomers when joining the Broncos, have gone on to earn full international caps, represent GB students and sign professional contracts.

Freshers and New Players

The majority of our players have no Rugby League experience when they first join us so don't worry if you're new to the sport, you're completely welcome to come and learn this fantastic game. The best way to get involved with the club is to come along to a training session or a Wednesday night social and meet the boys, so take a look at all the training and social details below.

Message our Instagram: uobathbroncos or give us an email: su-rugbyleague@bath.ac.uk for more information.

Training

Sundays 17:00-19:00 on the Astros - Meet by the STV benches outside the gym. This is our main training session each week.

Tuesdays 18:00-19:00 - Captains run-through on the 'Floodlit area' by Astros

Wednesdays - GAME DAY

Friday mornings 7:30-8:30 - Strength and conditioning in the STV Throws and Jumps Hall

We will also be having a regular hydrotherapy session each week on Thursdays for post-game (and Score) recovery.

Socials

Being a part of the Broncos offers the chance to join a close-knit team and build friendships. Furthermore, we wholeheartedly welcome social members who are interested in becoming a part of our club. The enjoyable and inclusive social environment that we provide is a huge part of being a Bronco. We host weekly socials on Wednesdays which everyone is welcome to attend.
