Training Equipment

The only piece of equipment you will need to buy is the training outfit, called a gi (pronounced gee). You can train for the first few weeks in just a pair of tracksuit trousers and a loose-fitting t-shirt, but will eventually need to buy a proper gi. If you have a white gi from another martial art such as judo you could also wear this, however karate gi's are generally too weak and will rip easily.

The club sells everything you will need, including a gi, for extremely competitive prices - far below what you will find on the highstreet in Bath or on major internet suppliers. We also sell the coloured belts you will need to acquire as you progress within jiu jitsu. Once again, the club will offer you by far the best price for these.

NOTE: Gis shrink in the wash, so always round up your size when ordering if in doubt.

The club itself owns a large supply of safe training aids, striking pads, kick shields, fist pads and everything else you will need to train safely and effective
