We expect around 1500 of you to descend on the university today! There will be lots going on and lots to do so we’ve got a few things to get you sorted and to help you relax! Make sure you pick up your wristbands, t-shirts and essentials packs from Elements, go to your resident tutor’s induction and come along on a walk to along the canal with us for a lovely traditional pub lunch!
Sunday Summary
Hopefully the other 1500 of you would have arrived today and your residences will be buzzing! Your crew and captains will be round to check that you’re all ok. They’ll also be taking you on tours around the city, telling you what’s going to be going on the rest of the week and then taking you down to the Mega Quiz and Bingo and then the Club night in Elements….so much going on and Freshers’ Week hasn’t even officially started!
Monday Summary
We officially launch Freshers’ Week tonight and it’s going to go off with a
bang so make sure you don’t miss it! Your crew members will be running
the city tours again today so make sure that you get onto one. Like on Saturday and Sunday, we'll also be offering campus tours
from 13:00-17:00 from the central information point outside the library.
There’s lots to do like collecting your library card and NUS Extra cards
and registering with the medical centre. For the evening we’ve got
traditional Irish dancing or ceilidh (pronounced kaylee) and the FW09 Take Off Party!
Tuesday Summary
Today is the last chance to collect your FW09 wristbands so if you haven’t yet collect it
now to avoid missing more! Today we’ve got inflatable assault courses, volunteering
opportunities, a BBQ and much more! To end the night we’ve you can get your
lederhosen on and singing voices out for the bierkeller before joining us for the
Beach Party in the sports hall!
Wednesday Summary
Today is sports day! All the SU sports clubs will be showcasing what they do out on the parade and enticing you to join! Whether you’ve played a sport for years or just looking for something new there’s something for everyone. For the earlier birds we’ve also got a guided tour of Bath leaving from campus so make sure you get up early to avoid missing out! The night ends with a Hedfoneparty in Elements and the chance to personalise your Freshers’ Tour t-shirts at the graffiti party!
Thursday Summary
Wake up to a free breakfast in the chaplaincy before wondering around the Carnival day. All the SU societies will be putting on a stall from a coconut shy to cultural food and everything in between! We end the night with an acoustic set in Elements and the long awaited Clubbers & Ravers night in the sports hall featuring ZANE LOWE!
Friday Summary
Friday sees the arrival of the commercial fair in the sports hall. Various companies from around Bath will be offering you're a large number of freebies as well as trying to gain your business. Hope you’ve been working on those biceps because you’re going to need them to carry out those bags full of freebies! The post-graduate welcome party takes place in town whilst on campus we’ll have poker before the annual Freshers’ Ball Vegas Night in the sports hall.
Saturday Summary
After a hectic week, have a lie in! Once you’re up come and join in the Arts & Media Day. The media groups will be giving you the opportunity to film in the TV studio or record your own radio show. The arts societies will be performing and holding taster sessions from pottery to photography! It’s a fun day out for all! We’ve also got the trip to the Roman Baths in town – you’re not a resident of Bath until you’ve been! We end the night with the Infamous Bath University Toga Party! Watch this space to be the first to hear of our headliner!

An early start for the more active amongst you off paintballing in Bristol – make sure you sign up at the information points. Not yet finished furnishing? Don’t worry we’ll be taking a coach load of you down to IKEA in Bristol to shop until you drop with no worries of having to carry everything back on the train! We’ve also got a trip to the local American Museum – the only one in the country. In the afternoon it’s time to show off your skills in the pool competition before taking on other residences in the SU Pub Quiz!
