Join us for our annual Community Awards night on Tuesday 2 April 2019 at the Victoria Art Gallery for a celebration of the work our volunteers do to enhance the University of Bath community. 

The Community Awards are for anyone volunteering in the following areas: Peer Mentoring, Hall Reps, Diversity and Support groups, and Peer Assisted Learning. All volunteers within these areas are invited to attend the event.

The Event

The event will open at 18:30 for a complimentary drink on arrival, ready for an 18:45 start. It is smart casual dress code and scheduled to finish between 19:30-19:45. It is free to attend but places must be registered as they are limited on a first come, first served basis.

Nominations

Anyone can submit a nomination for an award. You can nominate any student who volunteers in these areas, or you can nominate yourself. The winners of each award will be decided by a panel. Decisions are based on the nomination(s) received, so make sure to include as much detail and evidence in your nomination(s) as possible to demonstrate why the individual or group should win the award. Nominations close 12pm Friday 15 March.

Peer Mentor Awards

  • Peer Mentor of the Year

The judges will be looking for examples of how nominees have provided valuable support for their mentees. Peer Mentors from our Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Placement and Exercise schemes are eligible for this award.

  • Lead Peer Mentor of the Year

The judges will be looking for examples of how nominees have provided valuable support for their mentees and their fellow mentors this year.

Hall Committee Awards

  • Hall Rep of the Year

The judges will be looking for a Hall Rep who has not only been a valuable part of their committee, but has gone the extra mile to improve community life for students in halls.

  • Hall Committee of the Year

The judges will be looking for a Hall Committee who has organised successful events, collected and delivered valuable student feedback, and helped to create a strong community within their hall.

Diversity and Support Awards

  • Diversity and Support Volunteer of the Year

The judges will be looking for a member of a Diversity & Support group that has been enthusiastic, committed and gone the extra mile for their group.

  • Diversity and Support Group of the Year

The judges will be looking for a Diversity & Support group that has run successful campaigns, events and developed and improved as a group throughout the year.

Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Awards

  • PAL Leader of the Year

The judges will be looking for examples of how nominees have planned and delivered high quality PAL sessions, supported their fellow PAL Leaders and helped their attendees to develop their study skills and understanding of their course. PAL Leaders from our Academic, Languages and Pre-Sessional English schemes are eligible for this award.

  • PAL Scheme of the Year

The judges will be looking for examples of how nominees have worked together as a team and supported each other to plan and deliver high quality PAL sessions and help their attendees to develop their study skills and understanding of their course. PAL Leaders from our Academic, Languages and Pre-Sessional English schemes are eligible for this award.

  • Outstanding Contribution to Peer Assisted Learning awards will also be given out on the night.
