About my role

Opportunities

Volunteering in sport can provide a range of CV enhancing skills which we strongly encourage our students to take advantage of. From simple skills such as communication, organisation and planning to experiences such as sponsorship, partnership engagement and management; volunteering in sport can really enhance you employability and graduate earning potential through adding to your CV and making you stand out from the crowd. You can also use your volunteering experiences with SU Sport to contribute towards the Bath Award, as well as gain the fantastic benefits of the volunteer recognition scheme.

SU Sport has a range of volunteer opportunities which we strongly encourage our students to get involved in.

Committee Positions

Committee’s play a huge part in what we do at SU Sport. Aiming to empower students and develop fundamental skills such as leadership, our clubs are ran by students for students – with the guidance of SU Sports staff of course. To find out more about SU Sport committees visit our committee page.

3:Thirty Club 

The 3:Thirty Club offers a range of volunteering opportunities, providing experience in a range of areas which can develop numerous transferable skills to enhance your employability.

3:Thirty Club Ambassadors

Supporting a project funded by Sport England, Ambassadors will aim to encourage students currently not participating in sport to get active. Through leading inclusive, informal and fun events for students they will aim to have an impact their health and lifestyle.

3:Thirty Club Development Administrator

Supporting a project funded by Sport England, Development Administrators will have an impact in organising, structuring and marketing the 3: Thirty club’s events. Creating inclusive and fun sessions aim at students currently not participating in sport the aim is to have an influence in their health and lifestyle and install a mind-set of sport for life.

3:Thirty Club Working Group

Supporting a Sport England project, the Working Group will influence the direction of the 3: Thirty club’s events and sessions, discussing the barriers to participation and questioning the suitability of potential activities. Individuals would need to deem themselves as ‘inactive’ during their time at University.

Zamibia IDEALS Project

Interested in international development and sport, then the Zambia IDEALS Project in partnership with UK Sport could be for you. It is a trip which never gets any negative feedback from participants and is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to do.

Students apply and then are selected work in a sports development and coaching capacity in the heart of local communities in the Zambian capital of Lusaka for 6 weeks of their summer.
