Congratulations to University of Bath Nightline who have been awarded Most Improved Nightline of the Year at the Nightline Association Awards 2017. This award was won with some tough competition from the Nightline’s across the UK and Ireland.
The award, presented at Durham University on Saturday 1 April, was awarded to The University of Bath Nightline as a result of the hard work of the committee to deliver significant improvements to the service despite many challenges throughout the year. This has included the introduction of their Instant Messaging Service and website, collaborative work with Bath Spa University Nightline, as well as their improved links with services including the Samaritans.
Nightline Association also highlighted the professionalism of The University of Bath Nightline’s service, the increase in call volumes, and development of new confidentiality and suicide policies that secured their Good Practice Guidelines Accreditation Mark.
Jhon, Bath Nightline Coordinator, was in the final four shortlisted for Nightline Volunteer of the Year. He was recognised for his leadership in bringing in many of the improvements that led to being awarded Most Improved Nightline of the Year.
Hannah and Jhon, Bath Nightline Coordinators, said that “we are so pleased to have been recognised for the achievements made this year. Along with our status as an Accredited Nightline, and the commitment of our volunteers, we are excited for the future and we are confident that with your support we can continue to deliver and expand this vital and life-saving listening service to the students at our University”.
Bath Nightline is open 8pm – 8am every night of the semester via phone (the number is on the back of your Library card), email: email@example.com or instant messenger: http://bath.nightline.ac.uk
