This August, we are excited to be launching our new brand identity. As part of the Students’ Union’s new strategy we are aiming to increase the impact we have as an SU, engage more students in what we do and strengthen the student voice; enabling everyone to get the most out of their time at Bath.
One of our key roles in delivering this student experience is communication and, based on student feedback, we believe that we could be communicating with you in a more effective way. Our communication channels range from our website BathStudent.com to social media and advertising but it also includes the physical spaces and the experiences that students have when interacting with the SU.
Over the last few months we have been going through an intensive research process with our agency Holdens, which has included student workshops, stakeholder meetings, tours of the physical spaces and an all student survey. All of this insight has enabled us to work with the agency to develop our new brand identity.
We are looking forward to shortly being able to reveal to you our new logo, our new website design, and a new way of presenting our services to you. You will notice some significant changes including our name, which should allow us to really enhance the way we communicate with you.
The roll out of the new branding will have to happen in stages and therefore it is likely we will still see some of our old branding over the next year as we phase it out. Please also be patient with the website as you will begin to notice small changes appearing straight away with the aim of the new branding being applied from the beginning of August.
Ben Davies, SU President, said: “The last few months have been so interesting. It’s been great to really challenge things we have done previously and look and how we can make ourselves not only more visually appealing but also effective at communicating the huge variety of things we have to offer”
“We can’t wait for you to see what we have been doing behind the scenes and hope you can be patient with us and we begin to introduce the new branding across all of our channels. What an exciting time to start my role as SU President!”
Training and support will be offered to student groups who use the SU branding for their communications over the next few months. However, if anyone has any questions in the meantime please contact email@example.com.
