Have your say on the West of England Mayor Elections

On Thursday 4 May 2017 there will be an election to choose who will be the West of England Combined Authority Mayor. The election will be held across Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire authorities.

On the 4 April our Debating Society is also giving you an opportunity to hear what the candidates have to say. This will be the first ever ‘Mayor for the West of England’ hustings and the only one in Bath. This is your chance to challenge the candidates on what they would do with the significant new powers that the role brings. You can submit questions in advance here: https://goo.gl/forms/HIigRDo6cSy0tabw1 
Students, staff and local residents are welcome to attend this event. 
 
The Hustings will feature: 
Darren Hall, Green Party candidate and former Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Bristol West for the 2015 General Election.
Lesley Mansell, Labour candidate, NHS Manager and Parish Councillor.
Stephen Williams, Liberal Democrat candidate and former Member of Parliament for Bristol West (2005-15).
Ben Howlett MP will be representing Tim Bowles (Conservative). Aaron Foot (UKIP) is unable to attend.

The hustings will be held in Chancellor’s Building 1.1 at the University of Bath. Doors will open at 18:15, with the hustings aiming to start at 18:30. In all the hustings should finish no later than 20:15.
