Academic Elections

Here you can find out all about the academic elections that are run by the Students' Union, with information on the elections that take place, the role descriptions and timelines (i.e. the nomination and voting periods for these elections).  All election nominations and voting takes place at www.bathstudent.com/elections

All Academic Elections are run in line with the election rules set out by the Students' Union.  

Please note the Acting Returning Officer (ARO) for Academic Elections is the Students' Union Education Officer.  The Students' Union's Returning Officer (RO) is Jamie Scudamore, NUS Union Programmes Manager, the Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) is Ian Robinson, University of Bath Students' Union Chief Exec.  Complaints regarding an Academic Election should be made to the DRO before the end of polling (before the counting of votes takes place).

What positions can you stand for in the Academic elections?

During the year, the Students' Union runs a number of elections and any student may stand in these elections.  The Academic elections run for Academic Representatives, Faculty Representatives and Senate Representatives.  Please find the role descriptions for these below.

What are the timelines for these elections?

 

Academic Rep elections:

Nominations for Academic Reps take place in Week 1.

2014 - Nominations open midday September 29th and close midday October 5th


Voting takes place during Week 2.

2014 - Voting opens midday October 6th and closes midday October 10th.

 

Faculty Rep elections:

Undergraduate Faculty Rep election
Nominations for Undergraduate Faculty Reps take place in Week 24.
Voting for Undergraduate Faculty Reps takes place in Week 25.

Postgraduate Faculty Rep election
Nominations for PGT and PGR Faculty Reps take place in Week 3.
Voting for PGT and PGR Faculty Reps takes place in Week 4.

 

Senate Rep elections:

Undergraduate Senate Rep election
Nominations for the UG Senate Rep post take place in Week 24.
Voting for the UG Senate Rep post take place in Week 25.

Postgraduate Senate Rep election
Nominations for the PG Senate Rep post take place in Week 3.
Voting for the PG Senate Rep post takes place in Week 4.
