Who am I?
Hi, I’m James though usually referred to as Santa! I am your VP Sport for 2008/09 and am here to represent everyone who wants to take part in sport and exercise at Bath. I play both hockey and floorball for the University but enjoy all sports and can often be seen enjoying the free facilities at the University or enjoying a few drinks at Score - the Union’s Wednesday night event. I am friendly and approachable so please feel free to come up and speak to me anytime.
What do I do?
I head the Sports Association which is responsible for all sports clubs at the University, the intramurals system and events such as the famous Snow Ball. We also work in conjunction with the sports department to run exercise schemes and make the facilities more accessible to students for recreation. I also work as part of the Sabb team to represent you students on any issues or problems you want us to address.
My main objectives for the year
- To help make disability sport and exercise at the University more accessible
- Increase participation in sport and exercise.
- Unify all club elections and handover to a single date.
- Push for a 3G astro turf for Grass-based sports.
- Work more closely with club committees.
- Continue developing the intramural scheme.
- Introduce open coaching sessions run by our world class coaches.
