James Christmas

Who am I?
Hi, I’m James though usually referred to as Santa. I studied Natural Science at Bath and got involved with the Students' Union through sports committees. I enjoy all sports and can often be seen enjoying the free facilities at the University or enjoying a few drinks at Score - the Union’s Wednesday night event. I am your VP Sport for a second successive year and am friendly and approachable so please feel free to come up and speak to me anytime.

What do I do?
I head the Sports Association and am responsible for the overall running and its strategic direction. The Sports Association encompasses all sports clubs at the University, as well as a number of its own sports initiatives and events. I frequently work in conjunction with the sports department to make change such as the accessibility of facilities for students sport and recreation. I also work as part of the Sabb team to represent all students on any issues or problems being faced.

My main objectives for the year

To develop and follow an Sports Association specific engagement strategy to find out what our members really think and do my best to make real change.
To create an identity for the Sports Association that all members feel part of.
To maximise the use of volunteers within sport.
To work with the Sports Department to develop a relationship with a student friendly kit supplier who can provide for all clubs.
To continue to lobby for increased access to facilities for our sports clubs especially those who play on grass.
