Who am I?
Hi!! I'm Scarlett and I have recently graduated from a 4 year degree in International Management and French. During my time at Bath, I have been involved in several areas within the Students' Union, including the Gliding club, as well as the SnowSports, and MotorSports club. I have also been a member of MusicSoc and Gospel Choir, and last year I became a volunteer for AWARE. Lastly, in my fourth year, I sat on both Union Council and Academic Council, where I was able to represent students' views and help to implement change. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the guitar, shopping, long walks, dancing, and the gym. If you ever fancy a chat, please don't hesitate to pop by my office (next to the AWARE centre) or drop me an email :-)
What do I do?
My ultimate goal is to promote student welfare so that you know where to go and who to speak to should you ever need any advice or support. I aim to represent ALL students' views, and to make sure that nothing gets in the way of you all having a fun and safe time here in Bath. I will also be running several distinct campaigns throughout the year to raise awareness of important issues that may affect your life as a student.
My main objectives for the year
1) To better represent International Students. This includes providing events based on what ALL students really want, as well as endeavouring to offer activities that are culturally diverse and encourage integration.
2) Postgraduates Students are important members of the student body here at Bath, and I would like to work closely with the Postgraduate Association (PGA) to meet your needs and provide events and social activities that represent YOU. These activities can range from film nights, to volunteer work. I want you to feel like valuable members of the Student Union, and ensure that your views are heard. I will also be fighting for postgraduate social space in the 4 West building.
3) Environment - Its important that ALL students participate in environmental initiatives, including recycling and energy saving. This year, I want to further promote on and off campus environmental projects, and encourage greater participation in national energy saving competitions such as '"Student Switch Off". In the latest Student Opinion Survey, you told us that ethical and environmental issues were important to you. Therefore, we will be working even harder this year to improve environmental awareness at Bath.
4) Housing - I will aim to make the process of finding safe and comfortable accommodation even easier. I also wish to further influence landlords to work in the best interests of all students.
5) Sexual Health - All students should feel that they have someone to talk to if they require sexual health information. I want to make sure everyone knows that there is someone they can confide in if they need to.
