Here’s what a few of the charities have had to say about University of Bath volunteers…

“We couldn't do our work without the help of volunteers. They greatly
enrich our project work, bringing new ideas, generous amounts of time and fresh enthusiasm. We especially appreciate the volunteers who stay for a long time, up to a year. Because of their longer commitment they gain a deep insight into our work and can be of great use. As they develop they can be given challenging and involved tasks to do which benefits both sides. Our volunteers usually feel they have developed enormously while here and we certainly enjoy having them with us.”

Envolve

“All volunteers that have given up their time to support the Appeal (or have chosen to fundraise for us) have really shown a passion for the work at the RUH, and supporting particular departments across the hospital. Student volunteers are wonderful at putting their hands to many a task, the most popular being shaking a collecting bucket in fancy dress - which is a fantastic help in raising funds for the charity.”

Forever Friends Appeal

“My experience of the University volunteers has been excellent - they have been reliable, committed and very helpful and also recruit their friends, which is wonderful from my point of view! I was amazed by how many people still came to volunteer whilst revising for and sitting finals and writing dissertations!

Our organisation benefits greatly from the volunteers we get via the University from the efforts they put in through their volunteering and the range of experiences they are able to bring to us our Service Users. It is always interesting to hear about their studies and the variety of courses and placements they undertake. I hope that we are able to continue to enjoy recruiting volunteers through the University.”

Julian House

“We have had roughly 5 people volunteer from Bath Uni and all of them
have been of a high calibre. The volunteers have shown a great deal of commitment so far and have also been attending extra support evenings run by the YOT.”
