Scouting for Girls are a British band from Ruislip, London. The group was formed in 2005 by lifelong friends Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Peter Ellard. Their music encompasses a lighthearted pop style reflecting on childhood innocence and experiences. The band built up a following online, regularly being pioneered and promoted by the download site www.intomusic.co.uk and topping the intomusic.co.uk download charts.

On 14 February 2007, Scouting for Girls were signed to Epic UK (a division of Sony BMG) and they have recently been recording material for an album, released in September 2007. Their first E.P. single, "It's Not About You", heavily influenced by artists such as Electric Furs, was released on 25 June 2007 and is the highest charting limited edition E.P. in chart history. Their first full single "She's So Lovely", was released on 27 August 2007 and stayed in the Top 10 for six weeks. Their second single, "Elvis Ain't Dead", was released on December 17 2007. The debut album from Scouting for Girls is self-titled, certified Platinum, and has sold over 400,000 copies. It reached number 1 in the UK on 20 January 2008.
