Welcome to the Sports Association's Intramurals pages.

The word Intramurals literally translates to 'within walls', and is the name given to all of our internal competitive sports programmes.

The range of activities is huge, and develops further year-on-year. Students can enter a team into one of our year-long leagues, or  individually into one of the many one-off tournament/festival events. The only rule for eligibility is that you may not compete in a sport in which you are a BUSA team member.

The House Cup

The ultimate aim of all these endeavours is to contribute to the success of your Intramurals House, in the competition for the House Cup. Every sports league and tournament will be allocated points, and the finishing positions of students/teams will determine how many their house receives.

The Houses

Intramurals Houses Pages

There are four houses, students being allocated based on the faculties and departments of the University. The system automatically allocates you to your house. If you enter an individual event then this makes very little difference and points will be gained for your house based on how you finish.

Intramurals Houses

For team competitions, your team will need to be made up of other house members. Houses can enter multiple (and usually unlimited) teams into competitions, so if you get a team of course-mates together, a team from your department, or even a team combining two or more departments within a faculty, then you're ready to play!  On joining the SA you will receive an SA T-shirt in your house colour, so you instantly have your kit to compete in!

Inter-Departmental Football Competition (IDFC)

The IDFC is the biggest of our Intramural competitions, with 18 departments competing in a full 11-a-side league competition leading to knockout stages and the crowning of the ultimate departmental champions!

Competition takes place on Wednesdays 12-2pm and Friday 12-3.30pm.
