Bath University Gliding Club

Ever wondered what it's like to fly? At the University of Bath Gliding Club we live to go gliding.

In learning to glide, you can experience the many different sides of the sport. Whether it is the thrill of soaring over the countryside, the excitement of competing at the inter-university competition, or the sense of achievement of learning the skills necessary to go solo, the Gliding club can help you achieve it.

The Gliding Club flies at the Bath Wilts and North Dorset Gliding Club (BWND GC) based about 25 miles south of Bath. Members from the University Gliding Club are often found there on Saturdays and Sundays and in the club bar in the evening.

Instruction is free and provided by fully qualified instructors. The first 30 minutes of flying time in two seat gliders is free and all flying time in the single seat gliders is also free, you just pay for the launch! Everyone is welcome to join from the complete beginner to the fully qualified pilot.

Please browse the other pages on this website (navigation at the top of this page) which contain lots of information about the club, and our activities.
