The University of Bath Triathlon club aims to provide a friendly and pleasurable experience for all its members. Whether a beginner, intermediate level, or elite athlete, we have the facilities to make your training fun and competitive!
If you're new to Triathlon - (Swimming, Cycling and Running)
The Triathlon Club aims to be as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. Many of our members will have never have done a triathlon before, and may even only joined to build some fitness. For this type of member, we can ensure that there is training at a level suitable for you. There a many training sessions offered throughout the week, and all you have to do is turn up to those that you want to. Our coach has good experience in training at different levels, ensuring you find the training both stimulating and enjoyable.
If you've already got some lycra
For those members who wish to take triathlon more seriously, more serious training sessions are offered. All three disciplines are well covered in the schedule. Local bike rides will take place at least once per week, with more than enough running and swimming in the 50m pool. We compete in the BUSA National Triathlon competition each year in Calne, with some good results achieved in recent years. We also enter (and in a few cases come home with a trophy or two) many local and national triathlon duathlon, aquathlon, cycling, running and swimming events, keep your eyes peeled for e-mail updates of upcoming races. Wheels are in motion for possible warm eather training camps abroad.... watch this Space!
Socials
Triathlon is not all sweat, saddle sores and chaffing! We also have 'regular' socials courtesy of our social secretary Nicole. Hopefully this year we will manage to repeat last years success and have a weekend or two at Woolacombe, where having a good time is preferred to training.
Other socials include pasta parties, bbqs and nights on campus (Funky Guppy) and in town.
Whatever your goals and fitness level, the Triathlon Club can cater for your needs. Meet us at the Sports Fair, or join online now.
