Join Wake, Kite & Wind and become a member of one of the most enjoyable, exciting and sociable clubs at the University!

We're a very active society, running trips and holding socials regularly, and we cater for all levels of experience, from seasoned vetereans to absolute beginners.

Trips & Prices

Wakeboarding

On many Sundays we travel to JBSki, near Thorpe Park, and use the cable. It costs £25 (one-off annual membership) + £7 for each trip thereafter: a great saving compared to their usual prices!

Every few weeks we also organise boat trips at JBSki. Prices for these trips vary, but are well worth the extra cost.

Windsurfing

Our windsurfing events are mostly with the Student Windsurfing Association (SWA). We plan to go to all of the events they have arranged. The first event is Aussie Kiss X - a windsurfing event for beginners and advanced alike - so sign up now!

Kitesurfing

On most Wednesday afternoons, Chris will be hosting kiteboarding lessons over on the Lansdown playing fields. The first session is on the 19th, so be sure to sign up!

Equipment

We've built up a large inventory over the years to cater for all our activities so you won't have to pay to rent anything. It's all kept up to date and in good nick so you won't find yourself riding some wonder board from the 80s! All you need is a wetsuit (free to borrow from the Sports Association).

The Holiday

 The Easter break gives us the opportunity to fly off somewhere and board and surf our hearts out.

There's Xtreme-Gene: week long, and with world class coaches, it's guaranteed to drastically improve your riding. Of course, the sunnier climate helps too!

New this year, we also have the opportunity to visit Dahab, Egypt for a week of mix&match wakeboarding, kite and windsurfing, with the Curious Camel Company.

The Socials

We run regular socials each term to keep everyone in contact with their friends in the club. We've also got strong links with the other board riding clubs; so from time to time we join forces for a giant social! The pre-Snow Ball dinner is always a good event.

Oh, and there's usually a pub visit after each trip.
