Bath University Boat Club has come a long way since its founding in the 1970s. From initially consisting of only one 4 man boat, the club now owns a large and constantly expanding number of 8, 4, 2 and 1 man craft for use by all its members all year round for training and racing.

The club's boat house (built in 2007) is sited in Newbridge, a suburb of West Bath a few minutes from the university, and gives access to 4km of rowable river Avon. A great stretch of river with long straights, perfect for the long Head races and shorter sprints. It is rarely affected by the weather so the club can benefit from being on the water almost all year round.

We also benefit from state of the art sports facilities on the University campus (the facilities) which attract a large number of international athletes to train every year. We have access to a well equipped gym, 25 and 50m swimming pools, running tracks, tennis courts and numerous grass and astroturf pitches (to name a few) which are valuable for cross training and also social sports with the rest of the club.

The club regularly takes part in the large national competitions: Head of the River Race; 4s Head of the River Race; The Metropolitan Regatta; BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sports) Head and BUCS Regatta, aswell as local heads and regattas.
