Whether you are a national competitor or a complete beginner, fencing will welcome you, and with increasing numbers, open training, regular socials, and a dedicated committee, we really are the must-join club for anyone seeking something new at University this year.

With a number of optional training sessions a week we teach beginners foil and offer the chance to proceed onto sabre and épée, all kit provided. We have regular socials including cinema and meals, and encourage everyone to get to know each other as friends both within and outside the club environment. Following the success of previous years, we have the Fresher’s Foil competition for new fencers in December, and we will also be attending numerous other events for both experienced members and beginners throughout the year, as well as a number of friendly matches against other universities.

We appreciate that a lot of you have never fenced previously, and we welcome newbies to the sport. We also understand that you may not want to join the club if you have never tried fencing previously, so we are perfectly willing for you to come along to one of our sessions to give it a go, no strings attached, and we welcome any queries.
