University of Bath Swimming caters for a range of competitive needs, from International and Olympic representation to county competitions. Training and competition opportunities are tailored to suit all members, whether swimming to stay in shape or internationally.
For the performance squad there is a comprehensive training programme including land work and upwards of 20 hours pool time a week - see the Performance tab on the left hand side.
The alternative level of training offered is the student squad, this is where the majority of our students train. There are 8 sessions available each week, people can attend as many or a few as they like. We offer coaching for a wide range of abilities and standards, from social swimming to district / national levels and we take this into account when formulating our training, competition and social calendars. Our sessions are relaxed and fun, but we do train hard.
In terms of competitions, we performed well at BUCS during 2010/11 and look to continue this success next year. We have also entered the University Duel in the Pool League (new this year), this will add 6/7 duel meets during the year to our calendar. Another addition this year we are entering the Grand Prix at our pool (Nov 11) and Somerset counties. Please see the Fresher's Information on the left hand side..
Another great part of our swimming squad is the socials. We hold at least one a month and they always turn out to be great ways of meeting new people. Look out for the various themes we do...the words slip & slide come to mind...
