Welcome to the University of Bath Rugby Club homepage. UBRFC is one of the largest sports clubs at the University, accommodating six BUCS teams of varying ability, including a women’s team and a rugby league team new to the club this season. Along with the newly established RUSH-D intramural set up providing three extra men’s teams to act as a development squad for our BUCS teams while providing even more students with the opportunity to represent the University.
With top class coaches, facilities and coach and refereeing educational programmes, UBRFC caters for all players, both male and female, from the serious international to those that have never picked up a rugby ball before. We offer opportunities to become involved in all aspects of the game whether as a player, a coach, referee or even just as a social member.
Over the past few years the club has gone from strength to strength with our Men’s 1st XV who reached the BUSA Finals at Twickenham in 2006 to our Women’s XV who have reached the BUCS Trophy final for the past three years running, winning the title in 2010 and 2011. Our Men’s 2nd XV were promoted in 2010 to the BUCS 1A western conference and had a fantastic season finishing second in their league. The Men’s 3rd XV had a solid season after wining the BUCS SW conference cup in 2010 while our Men’s 4th XV topped their league. The RUSH-D Tigers team represented the university at the RFU’s first national intramural competition; they played exceptionally and narrowly missed out on the final at Twickenham.
Matches are played every Wednesday and most Sundays, and there are SOCIALS EVERY WEEK, so there is always an event going on! Whether you're an active member or not, you are very welcome at any time to join in, both on the pitch and off it!
