Attention: Producers - Composers - Audio geeks and recording people...
This is a society for people who create recorded music in any form!
We regularly run sessions for all members with our equipment in our space in the Arts Barn to experiment with ideas about recording, composing and producing :)
We also record/produce bands, radio shows and sessions for URB, MusicSoc and live events with our harddisk recorder at least once a week – all members with any experience are welcome at these sessions and the mixdown. You can listen to some of these at “listen again” on the URB website.
To enhance BUMPs members’ skills we run free (for members) workshops from other BUMPs members and professionals within the industry.
Our main activities:
• Sessions for absolute beginners to experts in making music from scratch with a computer – all five stages – composing, performing, recording, mixing and mastering
• Recording bands live using our own multi-channel hard disk recording setup
• Composing music and making recordings for other societies’ events and activities
• Socials! Meet other people into music and production!
Sessions will be run whenever it is convenient for members/committee, and will be organised on a 'when people are free' basis. If you want a session on a particular production related topic then email the society (socs-bumps@lists.bath.ac.uk) and a session will be organised for you. When we’ve seen when members are free, we might settle on a specific night each week.
Join us to enrich your music making, or help others with theirs!
You can hear some of our work at our old blog, www.nomoon.co.uk or at “listen again” on the URB website.
