Welcome from the committee

Welcome Everyone!

A short description of what we do:

We meet up and play friendly chess matches against each other, learn from each other, play local league matches and tournaments. We hope to offer some excellent opportunities for members to develop their chess abilities and to have fun.

 

Events and Activities: (term time only - check emails for holidays/exam-time schedule)

The society meets up every thursday at 7:15pm in 8W2.12.

Everyone is welcome to come along regardless of your chess experience - you'll find that there's always someone willing to give you a match/advice etc.

We mostly play chess, but you are welcome to play with our board games, bring in your own board games or suggest a new board game that we should add to our collection.

 

We also set up a giant chess set wednesday afternoons outside the library (weather permitting), and of course everyone is welcome to have a game and get a taste of what we have to offer.
