Regular events
Our regular events are in a high fantasy setting and use our own in house rules system (called "TonyLARP" or TL), and happen every Sunday.
This year's campaign began on the 5th of october, but new players are welcome to join at any time. Just find us in the university's east car park on a Sunday morning nad we'll be glad to have you. Alternatively, if you want more details first, drop the committee an e-mail at the address on our front page.
Note that these events are run primarily in the national trust woodland behind campus and the paths are uneven and, particularly in winter, can get muddy. As such, we recomend that participants wear stout, waterproof footwear and clothes they don't mind getting muddy.
We also hold a pub social every sunday evening (usually in the hobgoblin) after the game has finished
Special Events
Just to show that LARP doesn' have to mean dressing up as elves and goblins and hitting each other with foam swords...
Call of Cthulhu
We recently ran, in conjunction with BUTTS, a successful one-day event using the "Call of Cthulhu" setting. Seeing as everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, another will be organised for sometime in the new year. we'll even try and make the plot easier to follow this time. Honest!
Paranoia
Some time in semester 2 we are hoping to offer a "paranoia live" event.
Paranoia is a sci-fi setting in which characters live in an underground city run by a freindly computer. Everyone is happy all the time; friend computer sees to that.
Being unhappy is treasonous.
Traitors are summarily terminated.
There are rumours that there exists a place beyond the city, a mythic place known as "out-side" where there is fresh air and food that isn't reclaimed from waste. But friend-computer says that the people who spread these rumors are traitors and that the city is the only place the air isn't poisonous.
You beleive your friend computer don't you?
You're not a traitor are you?
Information on the paranoia setting can be found here.
