Welcome to MusicSoc, the biggest arts society on campus - run by musicians for musicians. We are the definitive destination for anyone who likes playing, writing, or listening to music! We put on gigs with uni bands and national talent both on and off campus, organize gig trips to Bristol and Bath, produce a regular music magazine, Foggy Notion, and we also run the University practice room, which has a full line-up of amps, drums and more, so you and your band can get together with just your instruments and practice for the multitude of nights we arrange.
But just as importantly, we form a community of students brought together by their love of music, who through musicsoc can meet up at gigs, form bands together, give and receive music lessons and discover new music.
We put on nights of all genres and sizes, including the OXJAM charity gig, music down by the lake in summer, and the infamous Bath Uni Battle of the Bands throughout the weeks running up to Easter, where last years winner’s, Huge Juice, won the gig of a lifetime playing to 3000 people, supporting Scouting for Girls at the Summer Ball. Being a member of musicsoc also gives you a free membership to Moles Club, so you can watch even more live music more often, with Monday nights often featuring more uni talent with some of the best musicsoc bands.
