Why Should I Vote?

You certainly do not have to vote - voting at Bath is both a right and a privilege but not an obligation. However, voting is your chance to influence the way the Union is run. This affects not only the Union's policies and services, but also the way in which you are represented to the University, the Government and other organisations.

How Do I Vote?

1. Use a computer with internet access.
2. Load up the Students' Union website: http://www.bathstudent.com
3. Log into the website by using your username and password. If you have not used the website before then click on the words "Register New Account" on the right hand side of the page.
4. Go to www.bathstudent.com/referenda
5. Using the links here you can:
- view the motions being voted on (tells you the exact text of what you're being asked to decide upon)
- read the arguments in favour and against the motions (cases as to why or why not you should vote in favour of the motion)
6. When you are ready to vote, select "Vote Now" and you will be presented with a statement summarising the motion you are voting on. You then need choose one of three options on each motion: "For" "Against" or "Abstain". You can only choose one option for each motion.
7. Once you have clicked on your preference, click "Vote" again to continue on to the next motion. Please continue voting until you have voted in all applicable instances.
8. Sit back and relax, safe in the knowledge that you have done your bit to ensure democracy is upheld in the Union. Congratulations!
