We raise money through various events run throughout the year and then donate the money to both local and national charities. With a core committee of 11 people supported by a large group of volunteers, last year we raised approx £35,000 for charitable organisations. Each year, Bath RAG aims to improve on the total amount raised through team spirit, enthusiasm and generally good fun! All we need you to do is join in our events!

So how do we raise all this money?

Well, we organise a host of different events including the Annual Fireworks Display, The Sleep Out for Julian House, The Paris Hitch , The glamorous Fashion Show and The Bank Holiday Duck Race.  Additionally, RAG Week is a week of daily events including a Bierkeller, a Silent Disco, an Arts show, Auction of Promises, club nights and Gunk-a-Sabb amongst many other activities!

But that’s not all! We also take our volunteers on regular raids (collections) in cities across the country where we do street collecting in a whole array of wacky costumes - just take a look at some of the photos in the gallery and on our facebook page!

 Occasionally, we also go on mega-raids, which act as weekend RAG roadtrips meeting RAGs from other universities, having lots of fun and doing our bit for charity too! Our favourite Mega-raids are often in Manchester and at Hogmanay in Edinburgh at New Years!

Why GET INVOLVED?

This really is the chance to do something worthwhile with your time at Bath whilst at the same time enhancing your CV and increasing your employability! The edge you get from volunteering means you have the chance to walk away from university with more than just a degree.

It is really easy to get involved with Bath RAG from organising an event yourself, volunteering at one of our events or collections or even just having fun by attending our events with your friends and having a great time! Our volunteers range from those who pitch in lightly every once in a while to those who volunteer on a regular basis; EVERYONE is welcome at ANY time.

Bath RAG can also help and provide support for people and groups with their own fundraising by helping with training, event management, publicity, finances and our resources. We also run dozens of socials so that it is easier for all of our volunteers to get to know each other and meet new people!
