Don was elected as the first Liberal Democrat MP for Bath in 1992, defeating the then Conservative Party chairman. He is a member of the Lib Dem Shadow Cabinet for Culture, Media and Sport, playing a part in the London Olympic preparations. Don has a masters degree for Bath Uni and is a frequent visitor to campus and guest of the Lib Dem Soc.
