General Election 2005
The last general election gave the Lib Dems their best result in 80 years; over 60 MPs and 23% of the national vote. Here in Bath our MP Don Foster was re-elected with help from the Lib Dem Soc and we also travlled to Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare. Our then Chair stood for parliament herself as a Lib Dem candidate in Cardiff.
Cheadle By Election
Following the sudden death of our own Patsy Calton, Nick and Alan joined Lib Dems from across Britain to defend her South Manchester sea.Despite the dirty campaign of the last days of Michael Howard's Conservatives, we gained a comfortable victory and were able to share a drink with our newest MP, Mark Hunter.
Local Elections 2007
All of Bath & NE Somerset Council was up for election in 2007. The minimum age for candidates was reduced allowing Lib Dem Soc members Nick Coombes and Armand Edwards to stand in Bathwick. The Lib Dem Soc helped out across the city delivering leaflets and knocking on doors in the weeks b
