Workshop
In the afternoon (2.45 pm) attendees will split into small groups for an interactive practical workshop session. Each group (4-5 postgraduate students) will be challenged with developing a collaborative research idea likely to attract funding, putting into practice the skills and techniques outlined by the speakers.
Each concise ‘grant proposal’ will be from a choice of broad project titles, based on the RCUK 2008/2009 – 2010/2011 Multi-disciplinary research delivery plans: (i) Energy; (ii) Living with environmental change (LWEC); (iii) Global threats to security; (iv) Ageing: life long health and wellbeing; (v) Digital economy; (vi) Nanoscience through engineering to application.
The sessions will be facilitated by Dr Jon Copley and members of the PGA Executive, and a prize will be awarded.
