Graduate Centre

A site on the campus for postgraduate students to meet, study and socialise would provide a much-needed space for postgraduates outside of subject departments. Building work is already taking place at 4 West on the planned Graduate Centre, although this is likely to be primarily informal study areas for postgraduates.

In April 2008, the PGA ran a survey on postgraduate social space which gives postgraduates the opportunity to voice their views on what's needed on campus, and enables the PGA to demonstrate that opinion to the University - opinion taken into account when developing plans for the site. A report based on the results of this survey is available here.

PGA surveys aren’t just to get an idea of what people are thinking: their results and conclusions for survey help us highlight areas of need to the University and provide concrete evidence of postgraduates opinion. Obviously, the higher the response rate in surveys, the more effective they are as evidence.

On the plans the room is highlighted in green, and is located just east of the Claverton Rooms. The orientation of the drawing has the Parade at the south, and the lake at the north.
