This semester we are offering two courses. The Car/MPV course is for those who want to drive Union cars or MPV vehicles and also for anyone at all who wants to develop driving skills. You need to be over 19 to drive Union Cars/MPVs and over 17 if you have a private car. Minibus training is for those who wish to drive all Union vehicles, including Minibuses, for which you need to be over 21. For both courses, there are two parts – classroom theory and on-road practical/observed drive (each part lasting about an hour and a half). Theory includes defensive driving, updating your knowledge about emergency and collision procedures, legal issues (bet you don’t know how many passengers you are licensed to carry!) and Union procedures. The practical part is based on defensive driving – how to avoid crashes and points! For both courses, you will receive a nationally recognised certificate. New information included this year- fire evacuation, including a practical session inside a vehicle with a smoke machine! Ever travelled in the “3rd row” of a large MPV/People Carrier.
