LGBT

Welcome to the University of Bath LGBT

About us

The LGBT is the support society for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Trans. students at the University of Bath.  We are officially part of the Students’ Union (BUSU) and represent L,G,B & T students in both the Union and the University.

Social

We do our best to keep up an active social schedule for our members.  Our regular socials involve a trek down to town after each meeting to one of the gay pubs for drinks, hopefully meeting up with people from Bath Spa's LGBT too, coffee trips on alternate wednesday afternoons and film nights (or afternoons!) most sundays.  In addition, we organise clubbing trips to bristol, and random other events such as ice-skating and bowling!

To find out about all of the events that we have currently planned, see the socails section of the website  and sign up to our mailing list, we will email out telling everyone about all of our events.

Support

We feel that the best way to support you is to help put you in touch with people who are like yourself.  To this end, we hold weekly meetings, every Thursday at 7pm, in 8W2.5.  These meetings are great for getting to know people and also thrashing out some topical issues.  If you would like a more one to one approach, we also run a confidential email service, to give advice and information to any students who feel they need support.  Feel free to email us on lgbt@bath.ac.uk or to email one of our committee members directly, details are on the committee pages .

We have only recently added the ‘T’ to our society and although we aim to be able to provide support on these issues, please bear with us as it is a new area we ourselves are learning about.

Contact

If you have any questions, need some advice, or just want a chat, we can always be contacted on lgbt@bath.ac.uk

Our external site can be found here: www.bathlgbt.co.uk

Other

Also we are happy for members to be as involved, or not, as they want.  Many of our members solely attend meetings, others just a few socials and a few come along to just about everything.  Whatever you want to do is fine!
