Freshers’ Week 2011 – Get Involved

The Freshers’ Week Event Managers are searching for keen and willing volunteers to get involved as Captains, Crew and Postgraduate representatives for Freshers’ Week 2011.

Volunteers are crucial and are seen as the face of Freshers’ Week to all new students. There are 3 positions you can apply for including Captains, Crew or a PostGrad Rep.

Captains:

Captains are responsible for and lead a group of crew throughout Freshers’ Week, with each Captain being responsible for an accommodation block.  Part of the role also involves assisting the FWEMs in organising and running the large number of events and activities throughout Freshers’ Week.

Crew:

Crew are a vital part of the Freshers’ Week volunteer team, and are the main point of contact for the new students.  Crew are the link between the Students’ Union and the freshers during the week and beyond, helping the new students settle in to university life.

On Thursday 31st March, the FWEMs will be on the parade and will be available for further information regarding any of these roles.

Postgraduate Reps:

The Postgraduate Representatives are a new position created for 2011 because we understand the Postgraduate timetable in the past has been flawed.  We want to change this.  These volunteers will work alongside the FWEMs to create a varied and comprehensive PG timetable, appealing to all Postgraduates.  There is also the opportunity to become a friendly face to new PG freshers during Freshers’ Week and beyond.  If you are interested or would like further information on this opportunity, look out for emails from the PGA or chat to us on the parade on Thursday 31st March.
