Induction

Vice Chancellor's Speech and Unismart Presentation

There will be two sessions on Tuesday 23rd September where the Vice Chancellor and Students' Union President will give a welcome speech to all new students. There will also be a presentation given by the company Unismart who have travelled all the way from New Zealand just for you! They will demonstrate a survival guide to university life telling you what you need to know about life and living whilst at University. It will be unlike any other lecture that you will EVER experience!

It is compulsory for ALL new undergraduate students to attend this induction and residences have been allocated times of when to do so. Crew Members will collect new students from their residences and take them to the Founders Sports Hall where the induction is taking place. The first session will run from 10:30am - 12:00pm and will include the following residences:

• Mendip
• Conygre
• Derhill
• Brendon Court
• Solsbury Court
• Eastwood Houses 24-31 and 42-51
• Polden Court
• John Wood Complex

The second session will run from 2:00pm - 3:30pm and will include:

• Quarry
• Cotswold
• Quantock
• Wolfson
• Marlborough Court
• Norwood
• Eastwood Houses 1-21 and 32-41
• Thornbank Gardens - Cedar Block
• Any new students who are non-residents living off campus.

Central Inductions

It is important that you attend all of your inductions given by your department. Check your induction timetable for when you need to attend departmental inductions, library inductions and your attendance confirmation session.

Residences Inductions

It is important that you attend the residences induction held in the University Hall. If you fail to attend you will receive a disciplinary from Accommodation Services which will remain on your record throughout your time here at the University.

The induction times are as follows:

Sunday 21st September

4:15pm - Eastwood, Solsbury Court, Marlborough Court.

5:15pm - Westwood, Brendon Court, Polden Court and Osbourne House.
