Welcome to Discover Bristol, the Better Bus to clubbing and going out in Bristol.

We take you right to the city centre where there are so many great places to go that we even give you a map!

Once you’ve been to Bristol you’ll want to go every week!

Please read through the following steps and instructions to fully understand what is on offer and how you can make the most of it.

Step 1. Why go to Bristol?

Bristol offers the best nightlife in the South West of England. With loads of restaurants, bars and clubs, quite simply if you want a great night out you can’t go wrong.

Step 2. What are we offering?

We are providing coach services to Bristol city centre, 5-10 minutes walk from over 20 clubs and many more bars. When you arrive at the coach we will give you a pocket sized map with a little “this is where you are!” as well as loads of great venues and other places highlighted on it.

The coaches usually leave Bath University Campus (East Car Park) at 9pm, will then make a brief stop in town 15 minutes later. We will then speed our way to the Bristol city centre.

At the end of the night we’ll take you home, we leave Bristol (it’s the same place we dropped you off) at 3am.

The times quoted here are the departure times, we can’t wait for you, so please be there early.

Step 3. What’s the alternative?

Put simply there isn’t one. For many years students from Bath have travelled to Bristol and the options aren’t great. Most people get the train or X39 bus. These both go from Bath town to Bristol Temple Meads station (a 30 minute walk to the city centre), cost around £6 and stop working before midnight.

So how did everyone get home? Well there are two options, wait at the train station till 5:30am or get a taxi for £30-£50.

The Better Bus offers the most convenient and cheap travel to Bristol nightlife, why it had never been done before is beyond me.

Email us for a quote if you want to book entire coaches, we book so many that we get a discount we can pass on to you, it’s cheaper to go through us than to go direct to the coach company!

Step 4. How do I buy a ticket?

Tickets cost £8 (£10 on Fridays and Saturdays) and include the return travel.

If the date you want to travel on is not currently listed on the website, email us at contact@betterbus.co.uk and we can add it for you. We also do good discounts on the advertised prices if you’re a large group.

Step 5. Anything else I should know?

Basically you won’t find a cheaper or more convenient way of getting to and from Bristol, whether you are booking a large group for a sports club social or just going with mates. Plus the deals at the clubs are just outstanding.

Tickets go on sale online on Friday at Midnight until Monday at 8am. They are also on sale from the Plug Bar Box Office.

Up and down the land, students are flirting at Flirt! nights in uni bars and clubs. Join in the party at Facebook where you can hook up with other students in the chat rooms, see photos from Flirt! nights and just generally hang out when you're bored!

The Haiti Happening!!The best of South West bands live in Elements on Thursday the 18th of March from 19:30 till midnight!

We have four incredible bands joining us here at the University of Bath to bring you not only a fantastic night of live music, but also to help us support those in Haiti that need our help. All profits will go towards Concern Worldwide’s Haiti Initiative.

Headlining are THE ICONYX, a Torbay based band with a smarter, slicker look and sharp danceable beats, they are driving changes in the guitar-based indie scene. Currently in the top 20 of the Evo Music Rooms Competition (among the best of the UK unsigned artists).

Also performing will be Nicole Fermie, a locally based band from Bath, currently performing around the UK and abroad. An image unconscious power trio in a world full of skinny jeans and massive egos, Nicole Fermie is here to just plain entertain!

We have appearances from Ocean Thief, and Illustrated Men, amazing raw talent from Bath Spa University. Ocean Thief played lasts year along side the Zutons at Bath Spa Summer Ball and both bands play regularly in local venues around Bath. With our own student DJs, plenty of drinks offers and great après-sport atmosphere whether you’re celebrating a win… commiserating a loss… or just celebrating! There’s only one place to be on a Wednesday night… so come out and SCORE!

Don’t just stand on the sidelines, get your tickets quick for BUSU’s sell-out club night and be part of the action.

Look out for the upcoming Score themes:
Beach party with Sol and Fosters - featuring loads of freebies.
Jager night – look out for the Jager girls.
Sourz – featuring free give aways, taster sessions with the Sourz girls, beat boxers and breakdancing.
All request DJ – where you decide the playlist for the night and can get your team, club or friends mentioned in a shout out.

We will be running the following ongoing competitions:
-Score pools – guess the results each week of Bath University home BUCS games and win free tickets to next week’s Score.
-Photo competition – send us your score photos and the best photo will winner the entrant loads of free tickets and the photo will be featured on the sports homepage slideshow.
-Fancy dress competition – the DJ will be giving prizes out every week for the best fancy dress.

Tickets can be bought online from midnight on the Friday before or from the Plug bar from 9am on the Monday before.

Clubs can still reserve tickets for your club every Friday morning from 9am.
