What We Do

We are the Bath University Guides and Scouts (BUGS), a friendly and active society open to any student at the university, whether you have been a Guide or Scout before or not!

It’s hard to describe what our society does, because we do so much! But, in essence, we focus on:

  • Adventurous Activities including hiking, boating, climbing, and fire-lighting

  • Fun and Games

  • Skills Building - including crafts and baking

  • Volunteering with Scouts and Guides

  • Camping - from just £10!

  • SSAGO Rallies - three camps and one formal ball with similar clubs across the country

So, if any of this appeals to you, give us a try! Many of our activities are free!

We are a very inclusive club and an LGBTQIA+ safe space. There's something for everyone and we have plenty of sober socials! If you don't like camping, you can come along to weekly events. If you do, there's up to 6 camps every year! Whether you come to one event or all of them, everyone is welcome.

Our events are held on different days each week so everyone can join in whatever your other commitments! There's usually lots on, so check out our events page or our teams group to see what you would like to do.

For more information on what we're doing this semester, check out Our Programme, or email us at su-bugs@bath.ac.uk. All events will be promoted on our MS Teams so join us there when you purchase membership!
