Outreach Chlamydia Screening Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities
- To work in a team at Students' Union bar events to raise awareness of Chlamydia and increase uptake of Chlamydia tests at given events.
- To adopt a 'peer to peer' health promotion strategy to encourage students to do a Chlamydia test onsite - using incentives.
- To signpost students to other local sexual health services.
Opportunity
- To gain experience in public health/health promotion, working on a National sexual health programme.
- To gain experience/knowledge of health promotion, team work, peer to peer marketing, NHS campaigns, sexual health and local services.
- To have a great deal of fun working at your favourite SU nights, for a worthwhile cause!
Useful previous experience
- Experience/interest in health promotion and/or sexual health
- Peer to peer marketing
- Very outgoing, enthusiastic & fun essential!
Time Commitment
- Attendance at a 2 hour training session
- At least 3 evening events (9.30pm-12.30am approx) during semester 1
- Opportunity to volunteer at more events on an ad hoc basis throughout the year
