Peace Of Mind

What is 'Peace of Mind' (POM)?

'Peace of Mind' is a free, independent, facilitated self-help group supporting student well being.  The group will provide opportunities for students to gain support from each other, develop coping strategies and build confidence and self-esteem.  A regular commitment to the group will ensure you will have the opportunity to influence the development of the group.

Is it confidential?

All members of the group will be expected to hold in confidence any personal issues brought to this group.  A group agreement is developed with group members to support the safety of the group.  Only in exceptional circumstances, when an individual is thought to be at serious risk to themselves or others, will the group facilitator consider breaking confidentiality.

When and Where?

Meeting each Wednesday 2.00-3.30pm, during term time in Esther Parkin Residence, Eastwood.  The group is facilitated by Liz Mason (MBCAP Accred), an experienced group facilitator from outside the University. This year the group will start on Wednesday 15th October.  Students can arrange to meet individually with Liz Mason on Wednesday 1st October or Wednesday 8th October prior to joining, email pom@bath.ac.uk to arrange a meeting.

"It was really helpful to see that UK students shared many of the same concerns and problems, and it was great to receive lots of advice and support." (International Student)
