Going on placement can be quite daunting at first, but it really can be one of the best experiences of your life. The handbook (which can be found online by clicking on the link below) will give you advice and information on how to best prepare and organise yourself beforehand, and some useful guidance for when you are settling in to your placement. Whilst away on placement and registered with the University, you remain as much a part of the University of Bath Students’ Union as when you were studying on your campus. You can keep up to date with what’s happening here through BathStudent.com and you can also receive information if you let us know. If at any time while you are away you experience a difficulty that you need help with, don’t hesitate to get in contact with the Academic and Welfare Centre (AWARE). 2008 PLACEMENTS HANDBOOK: You can collect a copy of the handbook from your department from 24th April 2008 or direct from AWARE, or you can view the handbook contents online using the links below or download the whole handbook here>>> Introduction Being a student on placement Student Code of Conduct Pre-placement Preparation Looking after your health Money matters Checklist - Before you go Going abroad Starting your placement While on placement Health and Safety Discrimination and Harassment Returning to University University Commitment Know your rights IMPORTANT INFORMATION: For up to date information on Health Advice if you are doing a placement abroad go to the Department of Health's website
