Where to Live
OK, so you know you have to live in "town". But what is town? You've heard of Oldfield Park and Newbridge, where are these places and what do they have to offer? Like most cities, Bath is made up of smaller communities that are focussed around the City Centre. To help you pick out areas in Bath to live in, we have put together local profiles about each community in Bath.
Oldfield Park
Oldfield Park is great, you have all you need here and the buses are frequent. Bath Spa University College 1st year student
Newbridge
Newbridge road is a nice area, the houses are large and the rent isn't too high. Along Chelsea Road are all the things you could need and there are two quite good pubs in walking distance. Also being able to park my car along here without paying for a permit is great!
Weston
Weston is an ideal area because it has all necessities readily available. It is close to the centre of Bath, but retains its own charm.
Bear Flat
Bear Flat has a lively charm and sometimes rather odd services. It more than meets any students needs.
Combe Down
The area has a wide range of shops, being literally on your doorstep. Everything is convenient, including travel.
South Down
Southdown has excellent local shops and a reliable, regular bus service.
Odd Down
A quiet area. Several very good takeaways just a short hop from your doorstep.
Widcombe
Aside from the forboding hill, Widcome offers just as many benefits as Bathwick, although you should note that is further away from the City Centre, and not on the 18 route.
Larkhall
Larkhall community is close to the city centre and has all the shops and services you require.
Bathwick
Being not far from town, if there is something that you need that Bathwick cannot offer it is only a 15 minute walk to the city centre.
Whiteway
Whiteway may not be the prettiest area of Bath but it is certainly well catered for in terms of proximity to local shops and public transport.
Twerton
Twerton is an alright place to live, it's close to the uni and has a good selection of well stocked shops.

Walcot
For students requiring access to the city, transport and a variety of services, I could not recommend living in the Walcot area more.
Lansdown
With its traditional Bath architecture interspersed with parks and greenery, Lansdown is an area full of character and charm.
City Centre
Well, to be honest, it's where everyone wants to live - it's BA1 or Bust
