Drink Aware
In the summer months it can be tempting to drink more than you might at other times, you might find yourself drinking earlier in the day or drinking in an another country on holiday. The following advice is especially applicable to the summer but can equally apply to any time throughout the year.
Drink Spiking
- Keep an eye on your drink, keep it with you at all times and cover it with your hand.
- Don't accept drinks from strangers.
- Stay with your friends and look out for each other.
- If you think that your drink might have been spiked, tell a member of bar staff or security immediately.
Drinking in the sun
- Alcohol dehydrates you, if you are drinking in the sun make sure you alternate alcohol with water or soft drinks to rehydrate you.
- Don't try swimming or a sporting activity after or whilst you are drinking, not only does alcohol dehydrate you, it also distorts your senses.
- Keep covered up or wear plenty of sunscreen to stop burning.
