Part of a healthy lifestyle is ensuring that you have some form of exercise regularly. This doesn't have to be taking part in a sport, it could be in the form of taking a walk, using the stairs instead of the lift, or dancing.

Free Sport Available on Campus

If you do want to take part in some sporting activities the University has some sporting facilities which you can use for free, these include:

  • Badminton and squash courts
  • Football and hockey pitches
  • Swimming pool

For more information on the free facilities and how to book them go to the Sports Association's Free Sport page>>>

Non-sporting exercise

If sport's not your thing then there are plenty of other ways of getting exercise and keeping fit.  You could join a gym or take some classes in yoga or aerobics.
Alternatively you could go for a walk, Bath is a beautiful city and we are lucky to be also in a rural area with lots of countryside to explore - why not turn it into a day out with your friends with a stop off for a picnic or pub lunch along the way! Find out about local pathways and suggested walks on the Visit South West website>>>  Remember to always look out for your personal safety and tell people where you are going and take a mobile phone with you or go with a group of people.  If you don't fancy doing a specific walk why not try walking down the hill to town rather than getting the bus (only if it is safe to do so).

Societies

There are many Students' Union societies which are very active and would help you get some exercise without being a specific sporting club, these include:
