How to Become an Academic Rep?

Among the first in the UK, our Students’ Union will hold the voting for Academic Representative Elections online. A link to Academic Representative Elections will appear on the Academic Section of BathStudent.com at the beginning of each academic year.

Who can be an Academic Rep?
Any student at the University of Bath can put themselves forward to become an Academic Rep, to represent the views of their fellow students in their year.

What is involved in being an Academic Rep?
There is an Academic Rep job description available to give you an insight into the skills that you could expect to develop as an Academic Rep and to see what it involved from benefits of being a Rep to the time commitment involved.
How is Academic reps' role recognised?
As an Academic Rep you are also a volunteer and as part of IiV (Investors in Volunteers), Bath University Students' Union (BUSU) ensures that there are procedures to support volunteers. To see what rights and responsibilities are available as a volunteer please click on this link: www.bath.ac.uk/volunteering then click on ‘volunteer policy’.

How to nominate yourself?
Each candidate is expected to write a motivation statement (manifesto) which is not to be longer than 100 words. Along with a photograph, the manifesto should then be uploaded to the elections section of BathStudent.com.
